15th Century Quatrefoil Ring From Italy
15th Century Quatrefoil Ring From Italy
A beautiful flower-like ring with a cubic zirconia stone in the center, is a wonderful example of Italian Renaissance style. It is enamelled with black lettering along the sides of the hoop and can be gold or silver plated.
The original example is from the British Museum. The hoop of this original ring has an inscription enamelled in black: LORENZO* A LENA LENA ('from Lawrence to Lena Lena'). A scooped quatrefoil shaped bezel holds a cut diamond. https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/H_AF-1090
Please note: gold or silver plated rings are not intended for constant wearing. Please take your ring off while taking a shower, washing the dishes, etc. to keep the gold shining longer.
