Pelican in Her Piety -15th Century Renaissance Brooch

This historic replica is full of premium materials and shows a famous medieval proverb "The Pelican in Her Piety". The original was made in either Belgium or France during the 15th century. 

The brooch is cast in brass with 24k gold plating. It features a cabochon CZ garnet, a blue spinel and freshwater pearls. The 5 fresh water pearl pendants add movement to this brilliant piece.

This brooch is attached using the included pin, which has a delicately carved acorn on it's tip. It can also be adapted to wear as a pendant on a necklace.
