Viking Earspoon a.k.a. Ear Scoop

Every good Viking needs an ear scoop to keep their ears clean. These little tools are common finds from Viking age sites and symbolise the emphasis Vikings put on their personal hygiene. The rumour is that Anglo-saxon ladies really admired the strong and clean physiques of the Vikings coming to England's shores.

Our version in brass is a copy of a copper alloy example excavated in the 1870's from Adelsö, Sweden. It features a zoomorphic head at the tip of the handle and delicate interlacing along it's length. It also has a loop at the end, which you can use to hang it from your brooches or belt fittings.
